Published Nov. 23, 2004 Dream Come True telethon airs Sunday at Penn's PeakBy GAIL MAHOLICK Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, will hold its annual telethon on Sunday, Nov. 28, from Penn's Peak, Jim Thorpe, beginning at 6 p.m.

The telethon will be aired live on Blue Ridge Communications TV13 and Service Electric, channel 19 in the Tamaqua area.

Hosts for the evening will be Kristal Nemeroff, Nick Hawkey, Dr. Ed Miller and George Roberts. Funds raised at the telethon are used to help this all-volunteer organization fulfill dreams for seriously ill children.

There is a great lineup of entertainment including recording artist Donna Parsons and her band who will perform throughout the evening, as the house band. Other entertainers include singers Amanda Santos of Palmerton, and Angela Nardini of Jim Thorpe. The Studio Kids will sing and dance as will the Penn's Peak Studio Theater, who will present some selections from their upcoming show, "Christmas Wrappings". Hannah Ahner, a student at SS Palmer Elementary School, will play the piano. Emerald Dragon Karate of Slatington will put on a martial arts demonstration by the 2004 Emerald Dragon Swat Team. The trio of Pat McGeehan, Nancy Porambo and Jillian Miller will perform some Blue Grass music. The Dream Kids chorus will be performing several numbers.

Several groups from the Carbon County Performing Arts will display their dancing talents. The Ricky Bell Band will be performing. Also appearing will be David Morales on piano and organ and the Lehighton High School Show Chorus, under the direction of David Perkins. Kristal Nemeroff, who is also hosting the telethon, will sing with Grace Loudon at the piano.

Viewers will also have an opportunity to meet some of the special children who have had a dream fulfilled.

Every dollar counts in helping this organization fulfill dreams for these children" Items to be auctioned off throughout the evening include a basketball autographed by the St. Joseph's University basketball team, and a basketball autographed by the 2004 National Coach of the Year, Phil Martelli. There will also be a football autographed by Joe Namath. Other items include ski passes donated by Blue Mountain Ski Area and a Penn State Jacket donated by Fred's Haberdashery of Palmerton.

Telethon sponsors are Foster Jewelers, Terry's Winners Circle, Dynamite Woodworking, Ohl Fuel, Brodheadsville Chevrolet, Kovatch, PenTeleData, Blue Ridge Service Center, First National Bank of Palmerton and Atty. William G. Schwab and Associates.

Dream Maker Awards will be presented to outstanding volunteers, who have served the organization for five years or more. Among the recipients are Carl Litwin, Wheels of Time Car Club, Old Time Plow Boys Club, Mr. & Mrs. Lee Hunsicker, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yandrisovitz and family, Carol Kocher and Heidel Hollow Farms, Inc.
